Physical Therapy for ACL Injuries

If you’ve had an ACL tear or surgery, we’ve got you covered.

Dr. Paul Nasri coaching a client through step ups during an ACL rehab session.
  • This depends on partial vs. full tear, involvement of other soft tissue and your ultimate goal/desired outcome.

  • Non-Surgical:

We typically start working with out clients within three days after an initial ACL tear.

    Surgical:

    Post-op day 2-3.

  • We use a combination of biofeedback, neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), and blood flow restriction (BFR) in the early stages of rehab. We also focus on restoring range of motion, and recruiting the quadriceps muscles.

  • We typically work with our clients for between 6-12 months. The amount of treatment necessary is directly related to the level of sport or activity the individual is returning to.

  • We work with out clients 2-3 times per week in the early stages, and 1-2 times per week in the later stages of ACL rehab.

ACL Return to Sport Specialists

  • We assess readiness to run based on time, strength testing and performance testing. We typically return our clients to running within 12-16 weeks post op.

  • We assess readiness to return to sport based on strength measurements, more advanced hop testing, and psychological readiness. We work closely with our clients to gradually and safely return them to sport. Clients typically return to sport within 9-12 months.
